Our Friends the Vultures

On Friday 2nd August 2019 we were able to get up close and personal with Paisley, a baby Andean condor, when Adam Bloch came to St Mary’s to talk about the challenges facing vultures and condors. These birds are close to extinction – with 99.9% of the world’s Asian vultures gone and now 85% of Africa’s vultures are dead.

Adam is Head of Operations at the International Centre For Birds of Prey, Newent, Gloucestershire.  Paisley is a well behaved young lady who  lives with Adam and his family and should live for 80 years.

If you would like to know more about joining the Friends, please come along on to our AGM at 7pm on Friday 15th November 2019 or see here.
